Background:
Jose is a business leader, executive coach, and founder of Eels Professional Development whose career spans military service, Fortune 300 leadership, public sector engagement, small business operations, and entrepreneurship. Over nearly two decades, he has led teams, managed multimillion-dollar business portfolios, partnered with organizations across the public and private sectors, and coached professionals navigating leadership, career growth, and organizational change.
His leadership journey began in the United States Navy, where he developed the discipline, accountability, and servant leadership principles that continue to shape his coaching philosophy today. After transitioning into the private sector, he spent more than a decade with W.W. Grainger, progressing through increasingly senior leadership positions in sales, operations, government, and program management. His experience leading teams, managing complex customer relationships, mentoring small businesses, and overseeing an $80 million business program provided a well-rounded understanding of how organizations grow, lead, and adapt. He later served as Chief Operating Officer of a Connecticut-based law firm, where he led organizational restructuring, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives that strengthened both business performance and employee engagement. These experiences reinforced his belief that sustainable business success is built on strong leadership, clear communication, and healthy organizational cultures.
Today, Jose works alongside business owners, executives, HR leaders, and emerging leaders as a trusted sounding board, helping them navigate leadership challenges, difficult conversations, organizational growth, and career development. His coaching is rooted in practical experience rather than theory, drawing from firsthand leadership experiences.
